Graduated from Liaquat Medical & Dental College in Pakistan in 1981 and then a Masters’ in Public Health in 1982 from Harvard School of Public Health, received her Postdoctoral training from Harvard School of Dental Medicine followed by the General Practice Residency at the Brigham &
Women’s Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts with active clinical involvement including Research contributed to her sound knowledge and tools that have led to her achievements throughout her career. Have extensive experience in establishing the Dental Services at the Aga Khan University
Hospital, in Pakistan, a tertiary and referral hospital, from ground level with clinical involvement. Worked closely with the Maxillofacial surgeons, ENT and Plastic Surgeons for patients requiring prosthetic oral rehabilitation. Appointed the Head of the Dental Services in 2004 by the Health
Authority of Abu Dhabi & led the expansion of dental services for the Ambulatory Healthcare Services in collaboration with SEHA in Abu Dhabi until 2016. To date is actively involved in teaching and establishing Dental Internship, residency and training Programs, first at the Aga Khan University & Hospital and then in the Public Health sector in Abu Dhabi – SEHA, UAE contributing to the development and expanding the scope of the clinical practice of the Dental practitioners –Consultants & Specialists through establishing CME activities in various dental specialties recognized both nationally & internationally in the Region. Was amongst the pioneers to establish Licensing process for the Healthcare Providers in the Public Sector for the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi – HAAD. Amongst the Pioneers to have initiated the CME activities in Dentistry at the Health Authority Abu Dhabi since 2005. Was responsible for organizing and facilitating the American Academy of Implant Dentistry UAE MaxiCourse in Abu Dhabi as the co-director of the Program. The Program has attracted doctors from the entire Middle East region – Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Egypt and also Japan. Is the only Program to have initiated a clinical component with both the surgical & prosthetic component sailing the dentists from start to finish of their cases. The Program is now in its Eighteenth Year. Was the Education Delegate for the ITI since the inception of the section in the Region until 2017 & is an ITI Fellow & Speaker. Is also a Diplomat of the ICOI. Was the recipient of the International Dentist Award in October 2019 and the Honoured Fellow Award in September 2022.
