Abstract

The use of the composite to restore the posterior cavities is a common use in the daily clinical practice. But this type of restorations will face 2 major difficulties:

  1. The proper build-up of the contact point on the long term
  2. Tooth sensitivity following the restoration

The shrinkage of the composite during the setting is responsible of most of these complications. Different solutions are proposed to minimize the effect, layering technique, sectional build up, selective bonding.
