Abstract

Delivery of indirect restorations is a major component of fixed prosthodontics and restorative dentistry. A basic understanding of the principles of tooth preparation and insight into the technology of a contemporary armamentarium are necessary for a full-mastery of this necessary skill. This presentation will outline the design and execution of various tooth preparation techniques that aid in the preservation, retention, structural durability, and biological compatibility of many laboratory-fabricated definitive restorations that ultimately provide long-term predictability and enhanced patient outcomes.
